A project based on the design for the Black Spaces Matter exhibition. A project where a two posters and a postcard were needed to showcase the exhibition.

For this project, we were asked by a client to design a postcard for an upcoming art exhibition. My postcard design was chosen to be the face of the exhibition. It was a great honor to be chosen. For the postcard, I wanted to create a type treatment instead of using images of houses. The concept was about the space that African Americans lived in during the Abolition Row, therefore I focused more of the idea of space and dimension. With that, I created this type treatment to play on the idea of space and the foreground versus the background. I also designed the back of the postcard and added in icons representing the gallery’s links and social media, whereas before, there wasn’t one.
